Happy Anniversary to us! We’ve known each other for four years now, and we’ve been husband & wife for two years. {You can see last year’s First Anniversary post here.}
We were actually married October 27th, 2012. It was a lovely autumn weekend with plenty of festive color and cheer. I loved wearing my alabaster gown, the first I tried on at a boutique, and Ian looked dapper in his vest and suspenders suit. We laughed heartily during our ceremony, flirting at the alter, joyously celebrating the gift of God’s covenant marriage with the recitation of traditional vows and our own personal vows. There were carved pumpkins, spiced cakes, mustaches and pirate hats, and we merrily danced with guests into the evening. It was a delightful day in history.
Though today is not our actual anniversary date, I am posting this a week early to commemorate, because my husband has planned a special date for us next Monday. We will take a drive along the mountain ridge and stop at the look out points to capture the spectacular seasonal array, picnic at the mountain peak, and then window shop and feast on the other side of the mountain by sunset. It will be a sweet and subtle way for us to reminisce with our baby girl due just around the corner in November.
